    Are there any risks of having the implanon in for 5 years?

    I'd like to get it removed ASAP, which I should have after the 3 year mark, haven't had any health problems.

    For contraception, it is effective upto 3 years . After it is just a foreign body in your arm.

    it is preferable to get it removed but no side effect or harm has been reported
