  Did you know that bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in Australia? It is estimated that one in 13 people will develop bowel cancer in their lifetime. So chances are you or someone you know will be affected by this disease. Screening using a faecal immunochemical test (FIT) is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of bowel cancer as it can help detect pre-cancerous polyps, known as adenomas, for removal during colonoscopy or cancer in its earliest stages when it is easier to treat and cure.
