    There are many risk factors for developing osteoporosis, which include but are not limited to: family history, lifestyle factors such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, a continual lack of sun light exposure or lack of calcium in your diet, certain medical condtions/medications such as celiac disease or use of cortico-steroids and for women, early menopause.
