Iolanda Rodino is a specialist Clinical Psychologist with a first class Honours (B. Sc (Hons) and Masters’ degree in Clinical Psychology. These degrees were attained at The University of Western Australia, Perth’s highest ranked University.
Iolanda is an active researcher and has published papers in the field of donor conception. In 2011 Iolanda was an invited expert on donor conception to the University of Technology Sydney as part of an Australian multi-disciplinary panel.
Iolanda has also commenced her Doctorate with The University of Western Australia and is now completing a multi-centre IVF clinic study investigating the important relationship between stress and lifestyle factors influencing fertility.
To further Australian interest in fertility research, Iolanda is developing the Think Fertility resource www.thinkfertility.com (currently under development) to foster connections with other like minded researchers.
Clinically, Iolanda has 15 years of experience in the area of reproductive medicine and mental health issues and has direct working experience in a number of infertility clinics in Perth. Iolanda is passionate about women’s health and has 2 private practices dedicated to infertility, antenatal and postnatal psychological care. Iolanda is also the founder of Perth IVF ® www.perthivf.com , a unique website that serves as an independent advisory service developed to empower and guide fertility patients in their fertility related choices. This site successfully draws in 2000 new visitors a month from all over Australia.
Iolanda further has links with The University of Western Australia Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as a clinical lecturer teaching medical students on the patient perspective to infertility.
Iolanda has experience with public presentations on infertility, media representations of infertility and presenting at fertility conferences. For five years she maintained the role of W.A. State representative for ANZICA (2004-2009), the ANZICA webmaster and for the last 10 years has been the only Counselling Representative on the Reproductive Technology Counselling Committee of the RTC (Perth WA).
