Dr Rebecca Charlotte Reynolds, also known as Dr Bec, finished her PhD in human nutrition at The University of Sydney with Professor Jennie Brand-Miller in mid-2009.Her thesis was entitled, “The effect of a low glycemic index diet on hormones, appetite and acne vulgaris”.From 2009-2010 she completed a year-long prestigious research fellowship with Professor Boyd Swinburn at the World Health Organization’s Collaborating Centre on Obesity Prevention at Deakin University for a Department of Health and Ageing initiative called the Collaboration of COmmunity-based Obesity Prevention Sites (CO-OPS).In late 2010/2011 she: wrote educational material for Deakin University (public health nutrition) and the Australian Fitness Network (AFN, Elite Nutrition Coach Continuing Education Credits); worked for Sydney Medical School’s The Boden Institute of Obesity, Nutrition, Exercise and Eating Disorders, primarily on a federal Department of Health and Ageing healthy workers project; was the resident nutritionist at Elixr Health Clubs; and lectured at the University of Western Sydney.Today, she: eats regularly; drinks regularly; enjoys eating and drinking regularly; consults to various media (e.g. Women’s Health magazine, Prevention magazine, Fitness First magazine, Dolly magazine) and corporates (e.g. Brain Resource Ltd); loves helping people get happier and healthier with their nutrition habits; cooks (mostly by not following recipes); and, captures precious moments in time with her beloved camera.
